My brother and I both like how this kind of music sounds, and after having played music with more convenient instruments for over a decade, we've been wanting to try things with tape recorders and sound samples instead. I am a rock musician and only know very few good examples of avant-garde music and musique concrète, such as The Beatles' Revolution 9. Three of the civilizations, (Osirion, Sarkoris, and the Tekritanin League) have less than a page to itself, while Thassilon receives no further character options throughout the book. Most of the entries are two pages long, with some reaching four pages. The rest of this book is sorted into individual ancient cultures, with character options for each. I particularly enjoyed the Azlant, Lung Wa, and Shory options. For those of you trying to figure it out, those not included are Celwynvian, Lirgen, Tekritanin and Yamasa. Those that do are Azlant, Jistka Imperium, Lung Wa, Ninshabur, Osirion, Sarkoris, Shory, Tar Targaadth and Thassilon. Historians rejoice! You can move the dot up to raise to amplify it, though that's not very precise. Let's say you're playing Fortnite, and you want the drinking sound to be boosted. You can fine tune this very precisely and reduce the impact on neighboring frequencies. Q factor lets you isolate the specific frequency even more. While you still adjust 10 bands like in a standard equalizer, each band has more aspects of control, as you can shift the frequencies and selectively boost or lower them. Now, all the sound frequencies become your playing field. ![]() If you happened to have sounds occuring on something in between, for example, like at 3.2KHz, you wouldn't be able to make impactful adjustments for that specific sound range.
